Energy Pool supports the opening of Türkiye’s Demand Response market
A New Era for Flexibility Services in Türkiye
Energy Pool is proud to announce that its Turkish subsidiary has been selected as an official aggregator within the country’s new national flexibility framework. Set to take effect in the winter of 2025–2026, this mechanism will enable the Turkish power system to better manage high-demand periods through coordinated demand-side activation. As part of the selection process, Energy Pool Türkiye successfully completed all technical tests conducted by TEİAŞ (TSO), demonstrating the robustness, responsiveness, and reliability of its flexibility capabilities. In addition, during the capacity procurement phase, Energy Pool Türkiye submitted a highly competitive and high-performance offer, ultimately securing the largest capacity award in the market.
This development directly supports national objectives for security of supply, more efficient use of existing energy resources, and a transition toward a more sustainable and resilient energy system. By integrating flexibility in a structured way, Türkiye strengthens its grid while reducing reliance on costly or carbon-intensive generation assets.
